PPC405 Profiling and the Programmable Interrupt Timer (PIT)

Jump to solution

Hi,

I wish to profile my PPC405 application in V4FX20.

I have followed the link:

http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx13_2/SDK_Doc/tasks/sdk_o_profile.htm

When selecting "enable_sw_intrusive_profiling" from the BSP settings, I can not select a PIT timer.

Am I missing something?  How can I tell the BSP to use the PPC405's PIT?

Thanks.

Lachlan.

Hi Lachlan,

If you wish to use PIT for profiling, then you should set the "profiler_timer" field to "none". The sw will automatically use PIT. Below is the description in the BSP settings dialog.

"Specify the Timer to use for Profiling. For PowerPC system, specify none to use PIT timer"
