Profiling problem

Hi there,

I am trying to initialize profiling on a simple program, but unfortunatly, I can't seem to run it.

I am targeting ppc405.

Here is the problem, in sdk when I press RUN->Run in the console I find "XMD%" I type "start", a DOS console window opens and the old console's output is "Running>"

after a while, I type "stop" then I type "profile -o gmon.out" here the sdk continue runnig at 80%, and the 80% doesn't increase and I don't know what to do to get the .out file.

Also, I want to know if there is something I should add in the code to make profiling works? or to initialize the opb_timer?

Thanks

Hi,

I now can run the profiler using the xps using the xmd.

But the problem that the gmon file only contains information about the main() function and doesn't contain any other function that are in the same .c file.

If anyone knws why or the solution, please reply.

Thanks

I have the same problem with SDK profiling: It shows always the 80% of running> and never finished. When I enter 'stop' then It shows to me the Pie chart and the others, but all of them have no data, are in blank! So, I'll try to profile my software on EDK and see if that works.

Have you tried to increase the profiling sampling frequency?

Best,
