XPS export to SDK doesn't work anymore

Jump to solution

Hi all

I'am currently developing a Microblaze system for the VC707 hardware.

Therefore I first started with a simple MB System using the XPS (V14.4)

wizard (I set the checkmark for the Xilinx VC707 Baseboard).

We were able to build the bitstream and also to export and launch to SDK.

So far everything worked fine.

After a few changes in my mhs file (we just added an axi_ethernet ip,

ethernet_dma ip and so on), I am still able to build the design. But now

when I press the button to export & launch the design to SDK including

bitstream and BMM file, neither the design is exported nor SDK will start.

Only the images and docs in the SDK_Export folder are updated.

Does anyone have an idea what am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Andreas

scrutinize the reports. Make sure that HW is really generated because I had the same situation when implementation fails at some point, no error is reported but export to SDK does not export the bitstreams. I often find that like implementation/system.par reports a timing violation while summary shows something outdated. Try running the make file from command line, like make -f system.make <exportintosdk>.

Did you change the name of the project folder?

The name of the folder shouldn't contain any spaces.

Thank you v_tihhomirov,

Exactly that was the problem. There is no error message posted in the summary.

But a deeper look into the implementation/system.par file shows the following line:

WARNING:Par:468 - Your design did not meet timing.  The following are some suggestions to assist you to meet timing in your design.

And for this reason the bitstream wasn't built and couldn't be exported.

But without any message.

Andreas
