Zynq-7000 in XIP mode

Jump to solution

I want to boot a Zynq-7000 with bitstream and a small application using XIP.

I've created a bif file which looks like this:

//arch = zynq; split = false; format = MCS
the_ROM_image:
{
 [bootloader,xip_mode]D:\DESIGNS\Vivado20182\Zynq_NoDDR\WS_ddr\FSBL\Debug\FSBL.elf
 D:\DESIGNS\Vivado20182\Zynq_NoDDR\WS_ddr\System_wrapper_hw_platform_0\System_wrapper.bit
 D:\DESIGNS\Vivado20182\Zynq_NoDDR\WS_ddr\blinkleds\Debug\blinkleds.elf
}

In bootgen I read in this file and write a new bif file and msc.

The bif file now looks like this:

//arch = zynq; split = false; format = MCS
the_ROM_image:
{
 [bootloader]D:\DESIGNS\Vivado20182\Zynq_NoDDR\WS_ddr\FSBL\Debug\FSBL.elf
 D:\DESIGNS\Vivado20182\Zynq_NoDDR\WS_ddr\System_wrapper_hw_platform_0\System_wrapper.bit
 D:\DESIGNS\Vivado20182\Zynq_NoDDR\WS_ddr\blinkleds\Debug\blinkleds.elf
}

xip_mode is no longer visible, so I'm doubt if the MCS realy contains an image that will boot in XIP mode.

Can somebody elaborate on this?

No. It's not set. Can you please generate the MCS using bootgen command in command line?
