installing Vivado SDK 2018.2 on Ubuntu 16.04

Jump to solution

Is it possible to just download and install Vivado SDK 2018.2 for Ubuntu 16.04?
or do I have to download the entire Vivado Design Suite
from https://www.xilinx.com/support/download.html
If I need to get the entire suite, which of the following should I get?
a) Vivado Design Suite - HLx Editions - 2018.2 Full Product Installation
b) Vivado Design Suite - HLx Editions: Update 1 - 2018.2
c) Vivado Design Suite - HLx Editions: Update 2 - 2018.2

My board is ZCU 102, purchased in the last 2-3 months.
I currently have SDK 2018.1 installed but recently had to upgrade my petalinux version from 2018.1 to 2018.2.
Based on some issues I'm seeing, I'm being told to upgrade SDK to 2018.2 to match my petalinux version

Any advice is appreciated.

I've downloaded entire vivado suite on a windows 10 system I have. I'm only using that for the hardware project.

On my linux/ubuntu system, I only need SDK in order to develop a few programs for my zcu102 board running ubuntu.

Thx,

Joe

Hi @jbeck695,

If you want to design HW in vivado as well then you can opt for option "a".

If you want only SDK then you can opt for "SDK only" after choosing option "a" to match with your petalinux 2018.2.
