AR73296 Script Is Broken

Jump to solution

Hi,

I recently tried to setup a new Ubuntu system to run Petalinux.

I thought I would try the script attached to AR73296 (plnx-env-setup.sh) in order to install the many prerequisite packages that are required by Petalinux.

Unfortunately it failed to do the job it is supposed to do.

The script has a typo on line 99 that causes a command to fail and therefore prevents the installation of the required i386 architecture packages.  The typo in question is:

sudo dpkg --add-architexture i386

Clearly --add-architexture is mispelt and instead should be --add-architecture.

The script is also littered with commands prefixed by sudo despite requiring that the script run as root.  If the script is invoked as root, sudo shouldn't be needed anywhere within the script itself.

Someone at Xilinx might want to fix up this script and do some testing to make sure it is working as intended.

James
