Adding interrupt support for custom peripheral

Linux gurus,

I need to add interrupt support for a custom peripheral.  Currently that peripheral is a pcore that does not have memory addresses associated with it.  The source will be an external master that need to interrupt the processor.  What steps do I need to take to have the interrupt show up in the DTS file?  Do I need to have an address space associated with the peripheral?

Thanks,

Matt.

Are you writing a driver to handle the interrupt?

You don't have to have any memory space for the device but it's not typical.  The driver is what cares so if the driver can handle only an interrupt and doesn't need to do anything with the device I don't see an issue.

I can't say I've done it as it's not typical.  Just add a device tree entry without the memory entry I would think.

Thanks.
