Booting linux on ZCU102 stucks on Waiting for root device /dev/mmcblk0p2....

Hi~

 

Before, I succeeded in booting zcu102 with below setup

Board : MPSOC Ultrascale ZCU102 revision1.1

vivado 17.4's fsbl, pmu v0.3, device tree(dtb), u-boot 2017.01 linux-xlnx 4.9.0

 

So, I want to upgrade linux version to 4.14.0

And I upgrade other firmware 

pmu v1.1, fsbl(create in newer vivado's SDK), dtb(create with newer dts)

 

But linux stucks in 'Waiting for root device /dev/mmcblk0p2...'

 

In my opinion, linux can't detect ip of zcu102 board.

Because there are other logs say 'failed for finding device'

 

I succeeded in the same board with old linux and other software stacks

But failed in newer stacks....

why?

If my understanding is correct, /dev/mmcblk0 is SD card and /dev/mmmcblk0p2 is 2nd partition of SD card.

If you forgot to install SD card, linux kernel outputs same message.

 

So, would you make sure SD card, first ?

Also, I suggest you to make sure whether file system is suitable or not on 2nd partition of SD card and kernel setting. (it seems little strange to output RAID mesage... )

Yes I use 1nd partition for booting software(boot.bin, dtb, kernel Image) and 2nd partition for root filesystem.

And I succeeded boot zcu102 on kernel 4.9.0

But, on kernel 4.14.0 with upgraded firmware(uboot, pmu, fsbl, bl31), I can't boot zcu102.

I don't think SDcard is a cause.

 

By the logs, linux can't read zcu's third parties. Is fdt have vesion?

What do you mean ?

I guess you need upgrade rootfs, too.

Also, could you point out it on the log file and share log file of fdt (flatten device tree) on u-boot ?

I can't find the message about zcu's third parties. 3rd partition ???
