Can DDR3-L clock frequency be changed on the fly in Linux

We are working on a low power profile device. We are using Linux operating system on Zynq 7000 with DDR3-L ram. Can we dynamically vary the DDR frequency on the fly to get a lower power scheme.

If possible any links mentioning how to implement it will be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Can DDR3-L clock frequency be changed on the fly in Linux

Hi,

I hope you mean the DDR3 connected to PS -section, if yes I donot think its frequency can be varied on the fly

Regards,

Vanitha

I don't think this is Xilinx specific. I don't think the DDR3 standard allows the frequency to be varied after boot.

Agressively putting the DDR into self-refresh mode may do more. Most power in consumed in transferring the data.
