Does Xilinx plan to support Yocto dunfell release in meta-xilinx?

We would like to use the new LTS Yocto release (dunfell), but see there is no dunfell branch in the meta-xilinx layer repository.  It looks like there haven't been any commits at all to meta-xilinx for almost a month.  Does Xilinx plan to update meta-xilinx for dunfell and newer Yocto releases?  If so, when might we expect updates?

Thanks.

Xilinx seems to only support new versions of Yocto on major releases (first release of the year, i.e. 2018.1, 2019.1, 2020.1). It looks like there is a planned 2020.2 release, but this will not update Yocto versions. So based on all this and their typical release cycle, I would not expect such a release within the next 6 months, probably mid next year sometime...

Hello:

I too would be interested on the planned support of Yocto release "Dunfell"...

Has anyone heard anything on upcoming plans to support Dunfell?

Dunfell is a lomg term support release, so it would be nice if Xilinx was planning support for it.

Here's a response on the meta-xilinx mailing list.  It appears that Xilinx does NOT plan to support Dunfell (Yocto LTS release)

https://lists.yoctoproject.org/g/meta-xilinx/topic/is_xilinx_working_on_a/77383753?p=,,,20,0,0,0::recentpostdate%2Fsticky,,,20,2,0,77383753

They are working on the next release (after Dunfell) and don't have the resources to do both.  Sounds like Xilinx has been supporting one major release per year for a while and skipping the interim release.  It's unfortunate that the LTS release happens to be one that they are skipping.
