How do you edit a devicetree file to add axi slaves as nodes?

Jump to solution

I am programming a ZC706 eval board and when generating the boot image and kernel the devicetree does not include my axi slaves as nodes.  The slaves in question are 4 axi protocol converters.  What is the format for adding this type of node to the device tree?

I know I need to edit the system-user.dtsi file but this is my first time doing this and I do not know what I would actually need to add.

HI @stephen.lindeman

Yes you need to use the system-user.dtsi file.

Then you need to refer to binding for the IP you are using to know the required property. But the way to write is exactly the same way as you would write any device tree file.

Maybe refer to the following video if you want to learn about device trees:

Hi @stephen.lindeman

Do you use petalinux and create project by it ?

If yes, you already imported hdf file to generate device tree by it.

Don't need anything.

Best regards,
