How to install petalinux on Digilent Atlys Spartan6 LX45 FPGA

Jump to solution

Hi,

I downloaded

Digilent-atlys-v2013.04-final.bsp

from Downloads page of Xilinx, however after

tar zxf Digilent-atlys-v2013.04-final.bsp

only hardware folder was created, no "petalinux" dir, and no "settings.sh" script.

what steps are required to install petalinux on this board?

I am using Xilinx ISE on Ubuntu 12.10 and I create projects and program them on FPGA successfully.

Hi,

The procedure is to use petalinux-install-bsp. This is documented in page 6 of this document

http://www.xilinx.com/publications/products/petalinux/petalinux-installation-guide.pdf

Check the attached snapshot for example

there is no such tool, I downloaded

Digilent-atlys-v2013.04-final.bsp

I did tar this and there is no

petalinux-install-bsp script. Should I download another bsp and call instalation script pointing to my file bsp?

Hi,

I don't have any petalinux! As I said I just downloaded and tar bsp file as described on Xilinx site

and here \http://www.wiki.xilinx.com/PetaLinux+Installation

I did steps 1,2,3,4 and I did

tar zxf Digilent-atlys-v2013.04-final.bsp

(note this is not Digilent-atlys-v2013.04-final-full.bsp  there is no such file to download)

and next it is said to do source settings or someone else said to run petalinux command but I have no petalinux folder or program installed.

do I have to install petalinux other way and then install bsp?

OK, I have missed the petalinux archive and downloaded only BSP files.

"click on the appropriate links to download the 'PetaLinux XX.YY installation archive' and all required BSPs."

thank you
