Kernel module insmod error "Invalid module Format"

Jump to solution

I tried to compile sample kernel module and then run "insmod hello.ko" in target board.

but  I met a error "Invalid module Format"

I check other system module and my sample module using modinfo.

but it's same  as below. Please advise me..

target board module info

# modinfo ./libcomposite.ko
filename: ./libcomposite.ko
author: David Brownell
license: GPL
depends:
intree: Y
name: libcomposite
vermagic: 4.19.0-xilinx-v2019.1 SMP preempt mod_unload modversions ARMv7 p2v8

my sample module

$ modinfo hello.ko
filename: /hello.ko
description: Hello world for Linux Kernel module
author: sj
license: GPL
depends:
name: hello
vermagic: 4.19.0-xilinx-v2019.1 SMP preempt mod_unload modversions ARMv7 p2v8

dmesg log

disagrees about version of sysmbol module_layout

Solved this

I changed  kernel menuconfig

I did uncheck this option, then It's done

"Enable lodable module support" >> "Module versioning support"
