Linux Boot Time Improvement

Hi all,

Currently my Microzed Linux build boots in 13s (FSBL+uboot+Linux) all from SD card. I am looking for suggestions on how to improve this in either or all three of the stages (FSBL, uboot, Linux).

Anyone have any tips and tricks? If you could throw in links on how you do them that would be great too.

Thanks in advance,

Tim

You can check the following article:

Although not on SD card, the following article has useful information:

Get rid of FSBL (replace with SPL).

Use a tool like "grabserial" to time the boot and see where the real timeconsumers are.

For inspiration, you can look at the BSP for the Topic Miami boards. These boot in about 5 seconds. The demonstrations (using Qt and a full graphic desktop) boot in 7 seconds from power-on to being fully functional.
