Linux suspend-to-RAM and power down FPD

I went through the https://xilinx-wiki.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/A/pages/18842232/Zynq+UltraScale+MPSoC+Power+Management+-+Linux+Kernel#ZynqUltraScale%EF%BC%8BMPSoCPowerManagement-LinuxKernel-WakeonLAN example where linux is suspended to RAM and the APU node is powered down (although the example says it powers down the FPD, only the APU is powered down).

How can I achieve / configure a power down of the FPD (and possibly the PL) nodes on a suspend to RAM from linux?

Many power management examples use the debugfs of the zynqmp-firmware driver, but its documentation says this is for debugging purposes only. How can this be done without the debugfs?

Cheers, David
