Re: Microblaze linux kernel with JFFS2 FIle system

Hi Kumar,

Here is a brief list of steps to help you out.  It has been a while for me, so use it as a starting point.

Configuring the kernel for JFFS2 support.

File systems->Miscellaneous filesystems->Journaling Flash File System v2 (JFFS2) support enabled.

Device Drivers->Memory Technology Deivce support->Direct char device access to MTD devices enabled

Device Drivers->Memory Technology Deivce support->Caching block device access to MTD devices enabled

If using SPI flash,

Device Drivers->Memory Technology Deivce support->Self-contained MTD device drivers-> Support most SPI Flash chips

Remember, the <Help> field is your friend on these config pages.

You'll probably need to compile some utility apps to initilizing your flash.

Hope that helps,

Raymond
