No ethernet in Petalinux 2016.4

Running on a Zynq ZC702. When I boot Petalinux I get the following. I've highlighted what I think are the ethernet relevant lines, there may be more. I try to ping the loopback address and it fails.

I'm new to PetaLinux/Yocto.

 

This is my sytem-top.dts. For gem0 I've tried using phy register values of 0 ,1, and 7. I'm not really sure which it should be and how I should be able to tell, so any tips would be appreciated.

Thank you for the reply. I tried your suggestion but got the same result. In addition to my custom board which I am attempting to get working I have a Zynq eval board. I used the prebuilt Xilinx image for that board and verified that the ethernet does work. The board uses a Marvel Phy, same as my custom board. I copied the settings from the downloaded system-top.dts and things got better.

My new system-top.dts, I added the &gem1 disabled setting. I can see that the Marvel PHY driver is being used which is good, but I still get the eth0: link is not ready message, and it looks like my irq=-1. Thanks for any help.

the phy node in your device tree doesn't need to go under the mdio node.

 

try this:

Thank you for the reply. I tried your suggestion but got the same result. In addition to my custom board which I am attempting to get working I have a Zynq eval board. I used the prebuilt Xilinx image for that board and verified that the ethernet does work. The board uses a Marvel Phy, same as my custom board. I copied the settings from the downloaded system-top.dts and things got better.

My new system-top.dts, I added the &gem1 disabled setting. I can see that the Marvel PHY driver is being used which is good, but I still get the eth0: link is not ready message, and it looks like my irq=-1. Thanks for any help.
