We are working with PPC440 and Linux OSL 2.6.33. We want to put the processor in "sleep" or low power-operating mode, controlling it from an application program.
I have read in the forums that using wait is software solution, but I don't know how to implement this command. Besides, I guess that there is another possibility to sleep the processor by HW, disabling the clocks.
Which are the differences between them? How could we access MSR register to implement WAIT function?
