PetaLinux 2019.2: petalinux-config -c kernel stuck at 99%

Greetings!

1- I've installed PetaLinux 2019.2 in a fresh Ubuntu 18.04 VM.
2- I've pulled down and installed the BSP for the ZCU106 board
3- I built the ZCU106 image and it ran on the board from MicroSD

Now I'm trying to do some kernel changes, and when I run

% petalinx-config -c kernel

I get stuck at 99% with this display:

NOTE: Executing SetScene Tasks
NOTE: Executing RunQueue Tasks
Currently  1 running tasks (373 of 373)  99% |####################################### |
0: linux-xlnx-4.19-xilinx-v2019.2+git999-r0 do_menuconfig - 3705s (pid 25506)

So I've been waiting more than an hour so far.  Any help would be appreciated!

-Dave

It is probably open in a new Terminal tab.

Thanks for the suggestion!  Looked into it, and only the single terminal window is open...

I also have this problem, with PetaLinux 2019.2...

It may be an issue with the active terminal.py terminal classes, eg. Gnome-terminal having problems launching a new window.

Note: There is a known problem with trying to get petalinux-config -c kernel to work from a remote ssh session with X-windows support, for example using Moba X-Term to manage x-session on a windows machine. It barely worked in 2018.3 and I found that it broke completely in 2019.1. You are not getting the error though so your issue is not directly related to the launch failure problem...

Can you try using a different terminal manager (OE_TERMINAL in <project>/project_spec/meta-user/config/petalinuxbsp.conf) ?

I was exactly using MobaX-Term when that didn't work, I tried with a simple SSH session (with Cmder) and that worked !

I wrote a simple fix to get Moba X-term working (x-11 forwarding for config windows)
