Petalinux easyprintk feature

Dear Support

We are working with Petalinux 2013.4 for the ZC702.
I would like to enable the easyprintk feature.

I did the following :

1. run petalinux-config-kernel
2. set Kernel hacking - > Kernel low-level debugging functions->earlyprintk
3. set Kernel hacking - > Kernel low-level debugging functions->Kernel low-level debugging port (Kernel low-level debugging on Xilinx Zynq using UART1)

At this stage I would expect to see in the dts something like bootargs = "console=ttyPS0,115200 earlyprintk". And I don't see it. Why?

Dear Support How to set earlyprintk properly?

Thanks in Advance,

Ilya Ginzburg

Re: Petalinux easyprintk feature

I'm not sure on 2013.4 as it's been a while, but in later versions you can configure it with petalinux-config.

There is a Kernel Bootarg menu where early printk can be selected. You can also see the kernel command line that petalinux generates there.

You can also add to the command line in the device tree if you know how to do that. Or from u-boot you can set the bootargs with the set command and add it.
