Petalinux .hdf file updation

Hi,

I have generated bitstream for my board. And i have exported my Hardware design. I copied my .hdf file to Linux machine (to hdf_dir directory).

Then i built petalinux using the .hdf.

$: petalinux-config --get-hw-description=./hdf_dir

Suppose, if i do some modification in vivado. Then i exported new .hdf. Then how do update my petalinux project with new hdf file?

1) Is it just sufficient to replace my hdf file

If yes, where do i replace?

     in "hdf_dir" directory or "peta_project/project-spec/hw-description"

2) Is there any petalinux command to update?

Thanks

Madhu

Hi @madhu.mami60,

When you export a new hdf from vivado you should re-do:

petalinux-config --get-hw-description=./hdf_dir

Petalinux should then detect if there is a change in the hw.

Kind Regards,

Florent

Hi @florentw

Yeah, I did the same.. Then i rebuild the whole thing, u-boot.elf size increses from 2.1MB to 11.9MB. And linux.ub also increases from ~10MB to ~20MB.

The linux image may increase due to added drivers/features...

But, Why this much increment in u-boot? What could the things is wrong?

Thanks

Madhu
