USB mass storage errors

I'm using linux-xlnx kernel 4.0.0 and having issues with USB mass storage devices.  I can seemingly detect and mount them, but when I go to access them (with ls), I get this error:

I tried this patch: https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Embedded-Linux/Problem-w-USB-mass-storage-on-ZC702-using-linux-xlnx-4-9/m-p/782428#M20879

But still get the error.  Any suggestions? Thanks for any help.
