Writing to SYSACE control register in Linux

I am running Linux  on a Virtex4 PPC405 on a custom board. The root filesystem is in a ramdisk, so I only mount the CF card when a new ACE file needs to be written. After writing the new ACE file, I would like to write to the sysace controlreg register to start the configuration process. I wrote a driver to write to the register. It does start the configuration, but after, I cannot mount the CF card again. (See below) The state machine in the sysace driver must be getting corrupted.

~ # mount /dev/xsa1 /disk
mount: mounting /dev/xsa1 on /disk failed: Device or resource busy

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Andy
