ZCU102 TRD 2018.2 build failed (always waiting at pmu-firmware-2018.2+gitAUTOINC+6e82c0183b-r0 do_fetch)

Follow the instructions at

to build the project, and it always stuck at:

I have already waited for several hours, and it can't finish. Does someone meet this problem?

Re: ZCU102 TRD 2018.2 build failed (always waiting at pmu-firmware-2018.2+gitAUTOINC+6e82c0183b-r0 do_fetch)

Hi,

do ctrl+c multiple times [which will generate signal to terminate the process] to stop the build

and restart the build process [petalinux-build -v] again, it works.

[next time, it might keep looping at fsbl-2017.4+gitAUTOINC+3813f14966-r0 do_configure build, again, repeat ctrl+c multiple times to stop the build process and do petalinux-build -v]

This problem is also there with petalinux 2017.4

i do ctrl+c (multiple times) and restart [petalinux-build -v] it again.

on Ubuntu, it may not give an option to type petalinux-build -v [i will use UP arrow and trigger/run/execute the previous command i.e. petalinux-build -v],

Thanks

Are you running this within a machine (virtual machine or otherwise) with only a few CPUs, or not enough memory?  Petalinux requires lots of compute resources.  Officially, you need a minimum of 8 cores at 2 GHz each, and 8 GB of RAM, although I've built it on 6 faster CPUs.

I am running on virtual machine. Perhaps it is caused by lack of CPUs and RAM. thanks.

Congratulations, you've beaten the official minimum. Maybe someone else can do it with a modest quad core, because there isn't any task exclusive of multi-cores, is just a question of patience.
