embedded linux for ethernet

Hello. ı want to work with embedded linux and ı want to development linux kernel for ethernet (gigabit ethernet) with Tcp/Ip protokol. Which kit can ı use? What is your propose?

You can install a linux 2.6 from xilinx.git.com on the Virtex 4 card.

There is support for ll_temac driver. LL_Temac is a trimode (10/100/1000 Mbit) Ethernet controller.

Look at this link: http://xilinx.wikidot.com/open-source-linux . There is useful instructions to install the kernel.

Hi,

I recommend using ML405. It had Virtex 4 with PPC. It has temac builtin. I used MontaVista Linux.  Installing linux was really easy and getting the ethernet to work was also not very hard. We used EDK 9.1.
