flashcp validation fails on 2018.3

Not sure if this was an issue while we were on 2018.1....  I have not used flashcp much on 2018.1 either .... Wonder if someone have seen this... see below .. two different boot.bin.. from different locations programmed to the same mtd. One always programs OK and one always fails. I took the "failing"  boot.bin on another  board, and it programmed OK. I know the validation conveyes correct info ...in case of the failure case the board was dead upon POR and I had to recover it with jtag.

root@rpd:/opt/rpd/data# flashcp -v BOOT.BIN /dev/mtd0

Erasing blocks: 121/121 (100%)

Writing data: 964k/964k (100%)

Verifying data: 964k/964k (100%)

root@rpd:/opt/rpd/data# pwd

/opt/rpd/data

root@rpd:/opt/rpd/data# cd -

/run/media/mmcblk0p2

root@rpd:/run/media/mmcblk0p2# flashcp -v BOOT.BIN /dev/mtd0

Erasing blocks: 121/121 (100%)

Writing data: 964k/964k (100%)

Verifying data: 10k/964k (1%)File does not seem to match flash data. First mismatch at 0x00000000-0x00002800

Re: flashcp validation fails on 2018.3

Hi @rrx ,

Did you try programming boot.bin into same partition in u-boot?

Also let me know the name & range of the partition you are trying to program?

Best Regards
Kranthi

Re: flashcp validation fails on 2018.3

No. I have not attempted uboot programming.  I have 2MB boot partitions (mtd0..mtd1 ..and so on) starting at the begining of QSPI flash. We are using Micron MT25 512 parts in dual/parallel config.

Re: flashcp validation fails on 2018.3

You can use below wiki for sf related commands, please try programming once whether U-boot is able to program correctly or not.

https://xilinx-wiki.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/A/pages/18842223/U-boot

This will confirm the hardware functionality status.
