petalinux boot error

Jump to solution

Hello all,

I just installed petalinux today and tried to run the qemu-prebuilt. However, got the error message below . I tried bsp for microzed and zedboard and got thesame error. What could be the issue?

~/petalinux_projects/zedboard/avnet-digilent-zedboard-2019.2/pre-built/linux/images$ $petalinux-boot --qemu --prebuilt 3
Command '-boot' not found, did you mean:

command 'hboot' from deb lam-runtime

Try: sudo apt install <deb name>

The problem is the dollar sign ($petalinux-boot). Don't type the $ character.

Otherwise the shell will expand $petalinux as a variable. Since this variable is undefined, it will become an empty value. That will leave -boot as the name of the command. In turn that gives the error that "Command -boot: not found"
