petalinux settings.csh

Jump to solution

Does anyone use (t)csh and source settings.csh to run petalinux tools?

My work platform uses tcsh as the default shell and I find I cannot configure the kernel using petalinux-confg -c kernel. See details .

For debug purposes, I set up a virtual machine to emulate my work environment. When I use a bash shell and source settings.sh I can configure the kernel, when I use tcsh and source settings.csh I cannot.

How can I work around this issue on my work enviroment?

  • Centos 7.6
  • petalinux 2019.1,
  • /bin/sh -> bash,
  • default shell: tcsh

I have found a workaround!

After sourcing settings.csh, setenv SHELL /bin/bash

Now I get the kernel menuconfig! :)
