pl.dtsi 2020.2 endpoint: Reference to non-existent

Hello

I use 2020.2 to auto generate device tree , during build I get pl.dtsi errors

pl.dtsi:381.62-383.8: ERROR (phandle_references): /amba_pl@0/v_proc_ss@a0200000/ports/port@1/endpoint: Reference to non-existent node or label "video_video_in_video_ch0_telemetry_sniffer_ch0video_video_in_video_ch0_v_proc_ss_ch0

I compare to 2020.1 and the node at line 381 doesn't exists .

could the endpoint ref at line  382,461,540 be wrong ?  "...&video_video_in_video_ch0_telemetry_sniffer_ch0video_video_in_video_ch0_v_proc_ss_ch0"

Thanks

Shai

Hi @skanarek

I have seen this happening if you connect a custom IP in the Video pipeline. Note that as per the following page there are limitation on the Device Tree Generator:

https://xilinx-wiki.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/A/pages/18842279/Build+Device+Tree+Blob#BuildDeviceTreeBlob-DTGLimitations

Most notable one in your case are:

  • If there are any custom IPs connected between the video pipeline IPs DTG wont support those, user may need to add the input and output ports.
  • DTG supports the video pipeline generation based on the internal TRD designs as mentioned in the wiki

So you might need to add entries to the device tree to make sure it is complete
