10G Ethernet Subsystem fails with Jumbo Frames

I am utilizing the IP 10G Ethernet Subsystem on a ZC706 to send data over the SFP.

Everything works fine until I want enable the jumbo frame setting. Data are still consumed on the AXI stream slave input (t_ready is high), but nothing is sent. I can not get any message with wireshark on the other side.

From PG072 it is only the tx_configuration_vector bit 4 I have to set.

I synthesized several times. Just the one bit in the config vector changed. Messages do not arrive, no matter what size I send.

Any suggestions?

m@rx,

I can not get any message with wireshark on the other side.

Have you enabled Jumbo Frame reception for your PC network card?

It is disabled by default.

Hi dpaul24,

thank you for the suggestion. Actually I have two Intel X710 cards. The link between two computers with these cards runs properly also with jumbo frames.

Only FPGA to PC with jumbo frames does not work.

You can try GT near end loopback to check if 10G IP can receive these jumbo frames first.

Spoiler: The constant value is interpreted as decimal rather than hex (of what I thought). So 18 instead of 12 fixes it.
