Auto Link Recovery Bandwidth Calculation

Vivado 2017.2, Virtex 7

PG074 talks about Auto Link Recovery in Simplex mode. I am using Simplex TX and RX IPs. Working fine except when Auto Link Recovery occurs. RX runs out of data to stream. I need to calculate the bandwidth this process occupies so that I can account for this TX down time. PG074 states that untouched, the periodic parameter is set at 163839 user clks. After that sentence the manual it lists an equation that seems to me to be full of unknowns.

Bandwidth occupancy = No. of user_clk cycles required by CB pattern/ Total no. of user_clk
cycles)*100

I want to calculate BW but I do no know "No. of user_clk cycles required by CB pattern" and do not understand what "Total no. of user_clk cycles" is.

Any help?

Thanks!
