I have an issue with two Xilinx FPGAs ( A kintex -7 XC7K325T acting as a demux and XC7K160T acting as a mux) which may or may not be linking via two 10g SFPs. My issue is that:
The first board is programmed, it does not matter which, and begins transmitting with no link and errors in the BERT.
The second board is programmed and transmits with a stable link and no errors. The first board that is programmed then registers an unstable link and errors continue.
By resetting the RX, TX and BERT on board one, via the xilinux hardware manager, a stable link is established with no errors. However, board number two will begin to show errors and its link becomes unstable.
By repeatedly switching between resetting boards (usually 1-4 times) the errors will eventually disappear and the link stabilizes.
Is this a major issue, or just a problem created from not being able to program the boards at exactly the same time?
