Query regarding xilinx ethernet_10g_ip performance.


I was testing Xilinx ethernet_10g_ip receive and transmit latency on VCU118. I am using vivado verilog for simulation testing. I found that ethernet_10g_ip transmit and receive  is taking more than 250ns. However in pg072-ten-gig-eth-mac document, it is mentioned that tx=44.8ns and rx=25.6ns so tx+rx=70.4ns i.e. transmit and receive path latency together is 70.4ns.

So I would like to know what could  be reason for 4 to 5 times transmit and receive latency compare to specification. Any suggestions for tuning would be of great help.

The PG072 latency number is just for the MAC latency.  Are you measuring just the MAC latency or does your loopback test also include the PCS and GT?   THe PCS latency can be found in PG068 and there are device specific ARs for the GT latency.
