Using 1G/2.5G Ethernet PCS/PMA as SGMII to GMII Bridge on KC705 board

Hi,

I want to use "1G/2.5G Ethernet PCS/PMA" IP core as "SGMII to GMII Bridge" on KC705 board.

The scenario is like this

MAC <=> SGMII-GMII bridge <=> CPRI [PHY] <=> SFP <=> optical fiber

What should be the configuration of the core?

Even if you dont know the exact answer, please help me in whatever way you can.

Thanks

Hi @chintala

Can you please clarify whether the MAC in your design flow is from Xilinx or is it your custom IP.

It is not from Xilinx. It sits outside the FPGA and communicates through SGMII interface.

Just generate 1G PCSPMA IP core with the interface "GMII" selected?

I am not able to see that option when configuring the 1G/2.5G PCS,PMA or SGMI core.

How to generate with GMII interface?

Hi,
when you choose SGMII, a bridge will be generated
and there is not GMII interface in this IP core, GMII is on tri_mode_ethernet IP CORE
