Virtex6 Embedded e-mac in trispeed mode

Jump to solution

When the embedded e-mac configured in tri-speed mode, will it automatically detect the speed and give the indication through the output pin "EMACSPEEDIS10100"? Or does it require an MDIO interface to communicate with the PHY?

Thanks

The user will need to program the TEMAC to the correct speed.

See http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/ip_documentation/v6_emac_gsg545.pdf

excuse me, if user has to read PHY register via MDIO to determine whether EMAC works at 10/100 or 1000 Mbps. then what is this signal "EMACSPEEDIS10100" (output from EMAC core)for?useless?

thank you
