ZC706 power-on issue

Jump to solution

Hello,

I have a problem with starting ZC706 board. If I turn the power switch on, nothing happened (no UART printings) even if everything is setup correctly.

Only way how to succesfully boot the card is leave PL part without power (jumper J66), turn the switch on and then remove the jumper from J66 (enable PL power). After that, Zynq succesfully loads the BOOT.bin from SD and boots up.

The alternative solution is turn of and on again the board very fast (during 500ms or less).

The board is brand new, pins are in default positions. I want to ask you, if somebody has the same problem, if it is a bug or "feature"...

Thank you

Martin

The following AR http://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/58053.htm addresses the one issue about JTAG chain detection. Please try as per above AR. Hope that can work in your case

Did you measure voltages? What are the power LED’S status? In case if voltages are not proper then please reprogram the TI power controller chIp as per board documentations

If still problem exists then follow the guidelines as per http://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/54013.htm and try
