write count != nBytes(0), rc = 20000015 and Boundary Scan finds many unknown devices

Hello everybody,

lately I started my journey through the FPGA world. I tried to obtain some practical experience using the SPARTAN-3E Starterkit.

I've solved the first tutorial "counter", and put it in the XC3S500E on my development board (starter kit).

It was easy and worked without any errors. The impact service had no problems to find three known devices on the board.

So I tried to make some further steps. :smileyhappy:

But now, the problems began:

The "Boundary Scan" finds either one unknown device or many unknown devices.

The console window says:

 Checking cable driver.

:smileysad:

Why does this error appear and how can I solve it?

Thanks.

Re: write count != nBytes(0), rc = 20000015 and Boundary Scan finds many unknown devices

Thanks you your help.

Spending more and more time finding the problem, I tried to use another JTAG program adapter. Result: No problems!

So, the main problem seems to be the on-board usb-programmer.

May be, one day I will know, why it won't work.
