Can SPI config interface support encryption?

Hi expert,

I'm going to config my Kintex Ultrascale FPGA  with a SPI x4 flash according to page45 of UG570, my question is: can SPI x4 interface support encryption?

What if I want to use SPI x8 interface like page47 of UG570, can I still use encryption in this scenario?

Thanks

Chris

Re: Can SPI config interface support encryption?

Hi guys,

I am working project same your work , building SPI x4 flash and SPI x8 flash.

I follow step by step document guide: (XAPP1233)- SPI Configuration and Flash Programming in UltraScale FPGAs.

In your case, If you want to encryption , you should not  add set-property in contrast file (xdc) before you systhesis and implement.

after that, you follow page 33. XAPP1233, you can config encryption.

So, with my problems, I add set-property in contrast file (xdc) before systhesis:

set_property BITSTREAM.GENERAL.COMPRESS TRUE [current_design]
set_property BITSTREAM.CONFIG.CONFIGRATE 33 [current_design]
set_property CONFIG_VOLTAGE 1.8 [current_design]
set_property CFGBVS GND [current_design]
set_property BITSTREAM.CONFIG.SPI_32BIT_ADDR YES [current_design]
set_property BITSTREAM.CONFIG.SPI_BUSWIDTH 4 [current_design]
set_property BITSTREAM.CONFIG.SPI_FALL_EDGE YES [current_design]

and then i follow page 22 to 26 XAPP1233. Finally, spi flash was configured successfully,  but FPGA can not boot from SPI flash.

can you help me detail what step did you do to configure SPI x4 ?

Re: Can SPI config interface support encryption?

Please refer to the following XAPP

https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/application_notes/xapp1267-encryp-efuse-program.pdf

Checkout page#126 (UG570)

Although we do have limitation on RSA authentication. Check the below snapshot:-
