Digilent HS3 not recognized by hardware manager of viviado lab 2020.1

Jump to solution

Hello,

I am trying to program a Xilinx Kintex 7 FPGA with Vivado Lab 2020.1 using the Digilent HS3 programming cable. Unfortunately the programmer is not recognized by the vivado hardware manager. I already checked the udev rules in /etc/udev/rules.d. There the necessary files 52-xilinx-diliget-usb.rules, 52-xilinx-ftdi-usb.rules and 53-xilinx-pcusb.rules are present.

Is any other configuration necessary to be able to use the digilent HS3 programmer?

Sincerely

C. Wenzel

Hi @CWenzel,

Can you confirm the OS you are using?

Can yo provide the exact error message you see in Vivado on failed connection?

Have you tried to reinstall the cable drivers from the Xilinx installation directory?

The cable drivers should be located in a install directory similar to: <install_directory>/data/xicom/cable_drivers/<lin64 or lin32>/install_script/install_drivers

Thanks,
Wendy

I am using CentOS8. The reinstallation of  the drivers worked.
