Is the shift register content of DNA_PORT preserved across configuration?

Is the DNA_PORT shift register value preserved during a device (re)configuration? Specifically, if I shift a value into the DNA_PORT and then reconfigure the FPGA without power cycling, will the DNA_PORT contain (and shift out) the same value? Architecture is Artix-7.

You cannot shift a value into DNA_PORT as the value in it is pre-programmed and yes, its preserved. You can only read it out.

Both the 7 Series FPGAs Configuration User Guide and the 7 Series Library Guide very clearly state that user data can be shifted into the DNA_PORT primitive. See images below. So I repeat: is the shift register content preserved through a device reconfiguration?
