Spartan-3AN Configure Done Pin does not go high

I have developed original Spartan-3AN board (attached pdf). After power on, Done pin does not go high. I noticed there are some mistake that, VS0 pin and INIT_B pin is connected to signals, then cut the line so that VS0 and INIT_B are open. I think VS1 connected to /CS2 (input pin of other device) is no probrem.  I cut the lines of CCLK and AWAKE pin, too. But, Done pin does not go hight. I would appreciate if some helpful advice is given. Thank you in advance.

Re: Spartan-3AN Configure Done Pin does not go high

Hi @iseshirop,

I’m assuming based on the mode pin configuration you are configuring via Internal Master SPI Mode?

Is VCCAUX at 3.3V?

The Variant Select Pins should be connected as per Table 10-2 of UG332 (v1.7), page 220.

Did you receive any error messages during configuration?

Have you scoped the configuration signals to investigate their status?

Thanks,
Wendy

Messages during configuration using iMPACT are follows:

INFO:iMPACT:583 - '0': The idcode read from the device does not match the idcode in the bsdl File.
INFO:iMPACT:1578 - '0': Device IDCODE : 00001111111111111111111111111111
INFO:iMPACT:1579 - '0': Expected IDCODE: 00000010011000100000000010010011

I'm not sure how to scope the configuration signals. How can I scope them ?

Best wishes,

Re: Spartan-3AN Configure Done Pin does not go high

Hi @iseshirop

Do you have any other devices in your chain?

Can you read back the device ID in iMPACT? So, in iMPACT click on the FPGA icon and then select "get device ID" from the "impact processes" tab.

Have you tried lowered the programming speed in iMPACT?

Thanks,
Wendy
