Spartan 6 FPGA - SPI Flash programming - 1.8V W25Q128FWSIG - Impact tool

Hi

we are using Spartan-6 FPGA "XC6SLX45-3CSG324" in our design. We have chosen Winbond 1.8V SPI flash "W25Q128FW" for FPGA configuration. SPI flash programming fails when we try to program the flash using Impact tool. Actually this device is not listed in the Impact tool. So tried similar ones listed in Impact tool (from Winbond) and MT25Q & N25Q series devices from Impact tool but nothing works.

Impact tool version is 14.7

Need your support to fix this issue.

Is this supported flash device for Spartan6 FPGA series? Also let me know the supported 1.8V SPI Flash devices for Spartan6 FPGA.

Best Regards,

Siva

Hello sivakumarsb@hcl.com

It is always better to use Xilinx supported flash from list provided at https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx14_7/pim_r_supported_spi_bpi_proms.htm

You can also test non supported SPI PROM using skip ID Test (Note: This method is not officially supported.)

Bhushan
