iMPACT - DONE did not go high - Cable USB-II - XC3S50AN

Hello,

I am having problems to program the XC3S50AN devices using iMPACT and CABLE USB-II Jtag.
This is an long time design and already we ran many units but I am unable to program new batch.
I tested in a good reference board and it does not work as well.
We are running in a new installation of iMPACT in Windows 7.

We initially tried with version 14.7, and after reading some posts I tried 14.4 and the issue is the same.
We also tried version 13.1

It sounds like you've pretty much proven that it's a problem with the Platform Cable USB II.

 

Have you checked the wires from the Platform Cable to the board? Easy to get a break in one of those if it's had a lot of use - and also very easy to fix.

I have checked the wires and they are okay.
The Platform Cable USB II is brand new. Just received last week purchased from Mouser.
We had and old one that we suspected that were damaged and purchased this one.
Just an additional information. I can check the device Id successfully so I understood that the Patform Cable USB II and the wires were good.
Can it be a device firmware version issue? Maybe a driver version issue?
Is there any way to check the firmware version and the driver installation?

Hi @iechuloh,

 

Is it correct in thinking that you can successfully connect to the device in iMPACT and the issue is only when you attempt to program the device?

Can you provide the output log from iMPACT after the failed configuration?

Has anything changed, such as the image you are programming, the steps used to program etc.?

Are you still successfully able to program previous batches of devices?

After applying the patch I managed to erase and reprogram the devices properly.
Thank you very much for your support.
