7K_325T_IMG - High-Speed channels on FMC HPC1(CN3) / FMC HPC2(CN4)

Hi,

 

We plan to use 7K_325T_IMG to communicate with sensor IC. The signal interface between FMC and sensor IC is as below.

 

  • 83 pairs LVDS (one LVDS speed is 1Gbit)
  • 45 pins single end IO

 

Per 7K_325T_IMG hardware user manual, FMC HPC connects a following number of High Speed signals to FPGA.

 

   " High Speed: 8 ch(TX), 8 ch(TX) and 2 pair clocks "

 

 

Can we use high speed channels for LVDS?

Are HPC1 and HPC2 enough for the requirement (83 pairs LVDS and 45 pins IO)?

No, these are GT Transceiver pins. 

 


We plan to use 7K_325T_IMG to communicate with sensor IC. The signal interface between FMC and sensor IC is as below.

 

  • 83 pairs LVDS (one LVDS speed is 1Gbit)
  • 45 pins single end IO

 

Are HPC1 and HPC2 enough for the requirement (83 pairs LVDS and 45 pins IO)?

 


From user guide,

 

HPC1:  LA 68(signal-end) and 2 pair clocks,  HA 24(single-end), HB 24(single-end)

Notice: HA05_P/N, HA13_P/N, HB04_P/N and HB05_P/N cannot be differential interface.(only single-end)

 

So you get LA: 34 differential,

                  HA: 10 differential, 4 Single Ended 

                  HB: 10 differential, 4 Single Ended

 

HPC2:  LA 68(signal-end) 

So you have LA: 34 differential

 

HPC1 + HPC 2 gives you 88 differential and 8 singled ended and can be made to 83 differential and 18 single ended which is well short of what you need for single ended.
