Block RAM Monitoring

Hi,

I am using Spartan-6 and using the block ram.

my design use previously initialized data from block ram to make some aritmetic operations on it and store results in the block ram also. i figured that i can use "INIT_xx" to initialize the BRAM but how i am going to dumb the BRAM data out of the fpga or at least monitor it in real time? is there a way to monitor the BRAM ?

You can use the "verify" operation in IMPACT to read back the entire bitsream (into a file called impact.rbd). Just do not try to read it back if the BRAM is being used (clocked) as that may corrupt a bit or two. You could use the other port of the BRAM to fashion your own access, sand readout through logic you design (better).
