Power off Virtex 6 development board shuts down my SDK....

As a newby I'm still feeling my way and have a bunch of questions.

Where's the switch that stops the shutdown of the SDK when I power off the board?

thanks!

This is a known issue with the SDK. The cause is that when you power off the board, it shuts off the USB to UART device on the board, which in turn causes the OS to remove the USB to UART driver, which ultimately causes SDK to crash.

I don't know of any work around. The only advice I can give is "don't power off the board when SDK is connected to the board".

If the ML605 board had configured the USB to UART device to be USB bus powered it would have been ok ;).

I haven't looked at the layout but you might be able to cut and jumper the REGIN connection to the CP2103 to the USB 5V power according to the cp2103 datasheet (http://www.silabs.com/Support%20Documents/TechnicalDocs/cp2103.pdf).
