Verilog books - Reg

Hello @drjohnsmith ,

Could you please provide me some reference of good books or links for verilog and system verilog. I saw your post in a community forum regarding VHDL books where you suggested FREE_RANGE_VHDL and it was a very good read. So by chance could you guide me to the start of verilog and system verilog. It would be of great help.

Thank you so much

Have a nice day!!

Regards

Pragavish

Re: Verilog books - Reg

I dont know of any good free Verilog books,
Some one else will Im certain,

I have seen students using Verilog HDL: A Guide to Digital Design and Synthesis ISBN 978-0132599702 , which I have seen is available in places for download,,

Personally if you can , and have to use a Verilog, I'd strongly recommend SystemVerilog, which has all the bad points of Verilog, as well as good points from other languages. Just make certain you dont use wire and reg every where but use logic type. you will see what I mean when you read up on it ,

Good luck

Re: Verilog books - Reg

These are some of the best online resource I've read for verilog.

For a beginner , this site gives you all the basics of verilog with lots of examples to get started.

This is handbook on verilog from Bucknell University. It focuses on behavioral Verilog though, so useful for simulation or verification only.

These papers from sunburst design is very good read.

I hope this helps. Good Luck.
