Virtex 7 (2.78 Tb/s) ?

Hi, 

I understand that transceivers in series 7 are capable of up to 6.6 Gb/s (GTP), 12.5 Gb/s (GTX), 13.1 Gb/s (GTH), or 28.05 Gb/s (GTZ) line rates depending on the family. But how does this lead to 2.78 Tb/s I/O bandwidth? Does it have to do with SelectIO technology? Can someone please explain how 2.78 tb/s bandwidth is acheived/

This page is the serial bandwidth overview for 7 Series http://www.xilinx.com/products/technology/high-speed-serial/index.htm

 

GTZ - 28.05 Gb/s TX &  RX * 16 Channels = 897.6 Gb/s

GTH - 13.10 Gb/s TX & RX * 72 Channels = 1886.4 Gb/s

 

Total = 897.6 + 1886.4 = 2784 Gb/s
