Where is the Virtex6 / Spartan6 website?

I'm looking at a Xilinx ad in EE Times, and it invites me to www.xilinx.com/6 to read all about it.

But the link doesn't work!

Quit teasing  :-)

Hi Antti,

I found it in the online "EE Times - Digital Edge" January26th edition of the magazine, on page 20.

I just find it amusing when the advert comes out before the company is ready (it happens to everyone!).

Hi xilinx_user9,

why do you think the website is working now?

Well it is online. But three of the pdf's that are linked with thumbnails are still password protected !!! So I (and probably everybody else) can't read them. :smileymad:

This is very weird.  I just took a look at the page and everything looks fine to me and I could download the files both with and without being logged in to Xilinx.com using both Firefox and IE.

Maybe you have an old web page with a bad link on it.   Try forcing a reload of the page to flush it from your browser cache.

Hi mcgett,

thank you for your reply. Flushing the browser cache was the first I  tried. Because  my Acrobat ( due to Software incompatibilities I still have to use distiller 5) was not able to open these files then I tried to render it with Photoshop CS2 but a password promt occured. Placing in Adobe Indesign showed a " File cannot be opened".

After some investigation now I found the Problem. Against to all other pdf's on your website, these three pdf's are encrypted! And that was the Problem. So only Adobe Reader 7 or above can open these files but no other PDF Reader.

This is a screenshot of the document properties of these three pdf's:

and this are the properties of all other documents:

So that caused the Problem. But I don't understand why you encrypt pdf's for public access.

Regards

Yes, you are right.  These particular documents are currently using Adobe AES encryption.

I have had some discussions with the team about why this was done and there is some background behind this decision.  Ultimately this may change, but for now Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 or higher willl enable the documents to be opened and read.

Hi,

Thanks, but I mean "real" user guide and data sheet (like other Virtex and Spartan families, like : http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/virtex-5.htm)

Visibly, is not yet available...

Regards.

You probably should wait about a year before even considering these devices.
