design ALU in microblaza

Hi

I need to design an ALU in microblaze

I had never done any project using microblaze

Please refer any document specific to the problem,I could only find general information on the topic

Re: design ALU in microblaza

Hi drjhonsmith

Yes I did search on microblaze and made some basic projects like hello world or so

but I am not very much clear how to proceed further

What I exactly need is to develop an ALU that can help me to perform the eigen value decompostion

First I want to develop an ALU with fixed input defined in microblaze or in verilog and get the output either on GPIO or some interface like ethernet

After verifying the output I will integrate the same with rest of my code written in verilog

Re: design ALU in microblaza

i think microblaze is a general purpose processor and in ALU I have to define specific operations according to my application requirement

Re: design ALU in microblaza

As you say, an ALU is 'just' the part that adds / inverts
as such , an ALU is part of the microblaze

What do you want to actualy do with the ALU ?
